It has been a very busy time for Team VADA and Virginia dealers. If you have monitored our communications closely, you know that VADA was very involved in leading the fight against dealer inclusion in the Financial Reform Law which was signed by President Obama.
We are pleased to report that, despite stiff opposition, we were successful. However, it will still impact our industry. Since the law applies to our lenders who extend credit to consumers, there will be changes and impacts at the lender level. We have an article in this month’s newsletter addressing this.
And with the passage of the Healthcare Reform legislation in March, dealers must face significant impacts in our insurance and benefit programs as well. We wrote on the subject in April and have an additional article in this month’s newsletter on the subject.
We are also facing the fallout of the recession as our highly successful AYES program has had to deal with the loss of certain manufacturers’ support and attempts at cutting our contribution from the State Department of Education.
